The ESHRE PGD Consortium was set up in 1997. For a history see the Focus article under publications. We have developed a number of exciting activities in the field of PGD (see summary of activities)
To survey the availability of PGD
To collect prospectively and retrospectively data on accuracy, reliability and effectiveness of PGD
To initiate follow-up studies
To produce guidelines and recommended PGD protocols
To formulate a consensus on the use of PGD
To educate in the science of genetics and reproduction
