Annual meeting / Rome 2010 / Welcome

Welcome

Ten years have almost passed since Italy hosted the 18th Annual Meeting and now I have the honour to cordially and warmly invite you to attend the 26th edition of the Annual Meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, which will be held in Rome from 27th to 30th June 2010.

The scientific committee will organise once more a very interesting programme covering all areas of human reproduction research and medicine in order to meet the needs of all participants. Pre-congress Courses will offer a wide range of reviews and new topics, and the scientific and industrial exhibits will present the latest information on the ongoing changes in laboratory and clinical products and instruments.

Rome, also known as “caput mundi” (capital of the world) or ‘la citta eterna’ (the eternal city) is the capital city of Italy and is thoroughly modern and cosmopolitan. As one of the few major European cities that escaped the destructions of World War II, central Rome remains essentially renaissance and baroque in character. The historic center is listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site where you can see world famous landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Forum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and many other beautiful sites and monuments. Important museums and galleries as The Vatican Museums, The Capitoline museums, the Galleria Borghese and The National Gallery of Modern Art contain an impressive amount of art masterpieces.

The venue of the meeting is the New Roman Fair, a new modern architectural construction very recently built between Fiumicino Airport and the city.

Rome ESHRE 2010 is waiting for you all. Don’t miss it!

Dr F.M. Ubaldi

Chairman of the Local Organising Committee
