Membership

Membership to the Society is open for all individuals active in the field of reproductive medicine and science including medical doctors, scientists, students and support personnel (such as nurses, laboratory technicians, counsellors, psychologists, social workers etc.). Since it was founded in 1985, ESHRE saw its membership increase from 349 to well over 4200 members. Overall, the membership is distributed over 114 different countries, with a majority of members in Europe (EU).

There are three different membership categories:

Ordinary membership applies to individuals with a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific accomplishments 
Fee = 60 Euro

Student membership applies to undergraduate, graduate and medical students, residents and post-doctoral research trainees  
Fee = 30 Euro

Paramedical membership applies to support personnel working in a routine environment such as nurses and laboratory technicians 
Fee = 30 Euro
 

Membership to the Society includes: 

Membership card
Reductions in registration fees for all ESHRE activities
Reductions for subscribers to the society journals
Regular updates and information on all activities in the form of newsletters, brochures, leaflets and circular letters
Access to membership only sections of the ESHRE web-site
Active participation in the Society’s policy-making by admission to the Annual general Assembly
3 x newsletter/year

Important notice! Joining ESHRE will reduce registration fees and subscriptions to the official ESHRE Journals. For instance - based on ESHRE 2008 rates - a member who participates in the Annual Meeting will easily save up to 116 Euro or more. A member subscriber to the journal Human Reproduction will save up to 322 Euro (also based on 2008 subscription rates)!

To avoid the process of having to renew your membership every year, ESHRE now offers its members the possibility of signing up as a member for three years. This means that when you renew your membership, you pay a fee of 180 euro (3x60 euro) for ordinary membership or 90 euro (3x30 euro) for paramedical members. Your membership will then be activated for three consecutive years. As a reward for your loyalty, ESHRE offers you a free USB-stick after subscription.
