Mai 2012 oder nach Vereinbarung eine/n erfahrene/n Embryologen/in (100%) für das Fertilitätslabor der Klinik für Reproduktions-Endokrinologie Ihre Hauptaufgaben Durchführung von Laborarbeiten wie: - In-Vitro-Fertilisation - ICSI - Kryokonservierung/Vitrifikation von Vorkernstadien, Ejakulat und Ovarialgewebe - Polkörperbiopsie - Ejakulatanalysen nach WHO 5 - Spermaaufbereitungen - Selbständiges Durchführen von Forschungsprojekten - Übernahme von Führungsaufgaben - Mitarbeit bei der universitären Lehre - Mitarbeit bei administrativen Aufgaben, insbesondere auch im Bereich des Qualitätsmanagements Ihr Profil Als erfahrene/r Embryologe/in haben Sie ein naturwissenschaftliches Studium erfolgreich absolviert. Description: A person who collaborates in establishing diagnoses, determining treatments, and selecting and using methods, techniques, and instruments in such fields as microbiology, biochemistry, biology, physiology, and biomedical sciences. Job description • Conducts IVF clinical procedures, including the preparation of glassware, recipients, and media preparation; oocyte identification and retrieval; effective sperm preparation; culture techniques; sperm insemination; removal of the cumulus complex; assessment of fertilization; classification of split embryos; selection of embryos for transfer; and freezing and transfer of embryos; • Conducts clinical procedures associated with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) using both ejaculated sperm samples and surgically obtained sperm samples; • Conducts all laboratory aspects of assisted human reproduction; • Conducts laboratory aspects of surgical sperm retrieval techniques (including microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration, percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration, testicular sperm aspiration, and testicular sperm extraction); • Conducts andrological laboratory procedures, if applicable, especially those involving sperm analyses, hormonal assays, if necessary, and the banking of donor sperm and the patient’s sperm both as a reserve for assisted reproduction cycles and for long-term storage; •Contributes to research projects in the field of human reproduction, notably by regularly reading relevant periodicals dealing with reproduction and infertility; • Ensures his/her professional skills remain up to date and, for this purpose, attends all lectures and meetings deemed appropriate; • Plays a role in decision-making of a clinical nature pertaining to embryology, jointly with the physician and patients. For example, when deciding the number of embryos that would be most appropriate for transfer; deciding if IVF or ICSI better suits a couple; deciding if a reserve sperm sample would be advantageous; • Writes adequate reports for all clinical procedures conducted and all laboratory work carried out; • Communicates information on the scientific aspects of their assisted reproduction treatments to patients and confirms their consent for the procedures decided upon; • Respects policies and patient confidentiality; • Respects laboratory standards, including quality control and safety standards. JOB REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor of Science in microbiology, biochemistry, biology, physiology or biomedical sciences; • French and English, oral and written.
