Dr. Luca Gianaroli is specialist in Reproductive Medicine from the end of the Seventies. He is Scientific Director of S.I.S.Me.R. System (Italian Society for the Study of Reproductive Medicine) and he holds the position of Director of the International Institute of Reproductive Medicine based in Lugano. He has covered, and currently covers, roles of primary importance in several national and international scientific societies for some of which he also has served as Chairman. In ESHRE he has been involved as coordinator of the Special Interest Group in Embryology and of the Training Sub-committee, and was founder and coordinator of the Special Interest Group in Stem Cells. General Secretary of the ESHRE 2000 meeting held in Bologna, he was member of the European IVF Monitoring Programme and of several International Scientific Committees. He is author or co-author of more than 200 papers in international scientific journals, and publisher and co-publisher of 9 books.
