Timur Gurgan (1952) started his academic career as an assistant professor in 1985 in Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. In 1988, he became associate professor and then in 1995, full professor in the Department of OB/Gyn of the same university. He was appointed as the Chairman of the Department of Ob/Gyn between the years 1997 and 2000. During his time there, he also founded the gynecological endoscopy, IVF, andrology and menopause divisions.
He is currently the head of the Division of the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility of the same Department which was recently accredited by European Community and ESHRE.
His main interests are PCOS, endometriosis, clinical applications of ART’s, IVM, office hysteroscopy and prevention of multiples in ART. He is the author or co-author of more than 100 journal articles appeared in many peer-reviewed journals and several international books. He is also ad-hoc reviewer or in the editorial board of many journals. At the same time, h e also lectures in many international and national conferences and was the president of two major international conferences that were held in Turkey.
Apart from his teaching and training activities in the university, he has been acting as the Scientific Director of Clinic Women’s Health, Infertility and IVF Center in Ankara since 2000.
