After a master in physics in 1992, Dr A Feki obtained his MD Degree in thoracic surgery with Award of Excellence from Tunis Faculty of medicine in 1999. He trained Obstetrics and Gynecology in Geneva University Hospitals, and obtained his MD and PhD in 2004 with the price of the best thesis of Geneva Faculty of Medicine. He is Swiss Board Certified Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr Feki had a postdoctoral grant for a Fellowship on Reproductive Medicine in the service of gynecology at the Catholic University of Louvain in 2010. He held a Chef de Clinique position in the reproductive medicine unit at the department of obstetrics and gynecology in Geneva University Hospitals. Actually he is the head of obstetrics and gynecology department at the Cantonal Hospital of Fribourg-Switzerland.
In 2005, Dr A Feki obtained the SCORE grant of the Swiss National Foundation for Research and established the Stem Cell Research Laboratory based in Geneva University Hospitals, which he directed. He derived the first Swiss human embryonic stem and induced pluripotent stem cell lines.
His main interests, fertility preservation in severe diseases, and potential of pluripotent stem cells in reproductive medicine: genetic stability, pluripotency and self-renewal
He is deputy of the special interest group stem cells since 2009.
