 Epigenetic inheritance via paternal germline
Histone modifications
DNA methylation
POTENTIAL CARRIERS OF EPIGENETIC INHERITANCE: - DNA methylation
- Histone/protamine
modifications
- non-coding RNAs
 ncRNAs
    Sperm RNAs
• Spermatozoa are largely transcriptionally inactive
• However, sperm contain a complex population of RNAs
• mRNAs, lncRNAs, miRNAs, piRNAs, tRNAfragments, rRNAfragments
• The presence and abundance of sperm RNAs may reflect the fidelity of spermatogenesis, sperm maturation, fertility potential, and the paternal contribution to the development of the offspring.
