    Techniques for studying microRNA –diagnostics and analytics
Ibrahim SA et al. Biochim Biophys Acta. 2014 Aug;1840(8):2609-20.
– microRNA can be isolated from blood and patient tissue (including formalin-fixed samples) using modified standard RNA isolation procedures
– microRNA is biologically more stable towards degradation than mRNA (‚pre- degraded‘)
– microRNA can be isolated from samples which are critical for mRNA, e.g. formalin- fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues
– microRNA expression can be analysed by
-> microRNA profiling (different array formats and flow cytometric methods) -> real time RT-PCR (e.g. TaqMan-assays)
-> high througput sequencing
