Summary
LOD is an effective second line therapy for anovulatory infertility due to PCOS, it is associated a reduced risk of multiple pregnancy and OHSS.
LOD, when properly performed, is a safe procedure with hardly any risk of ovarian failure, a 1/3 risk of producing clinically insignificant iatrogenic adhesions
Personal preference, experience (results) and awareness of long term data do influence how often LOD is utilized
