• Data obtained from the Federal Statistical Office in Germany (DESTATIS) using the MEDRA code 10053868 for AS
• In 15 years there was a total of 3053 cases equivalent to a total prevalence of 0.378/10,000 people (German population estimate: 80,636,000)
• Approximately 26.7% of the German population are women between 15-54 years old giving an accumulated incidence of 1.396 /10,000 population
• In 10 years D&C in Germany decreased from 77,115 in 2005 to 51,342 in 2015 (-28%) while AS has decreased from 181 to 161 (-8%)

     Prevalence
The results were based on three different calculations:
1. Proportion of women with AS associated with infertility
2. Incidence of AS associated with incidental findings after hysterosalpingogram
3. Incidence according to incidental findings after postpartum curettage
Based on these results, the final estimated prevalence of AS was 4.4/10,000 people
