IVM PROTOCOLS ARE TOO SIMPLISTIC
 Current IVM protocols have changed little, if any, over several decades and are too simplistic, as an effect of lack of knowledge of the final and yet critical changes that transform a fully-grown primary oocyte into a mature gamete.
 Optimizing the culture media, maturation time (24 vs 48 hours) and collection.
 Unstimulated ovaries versus stimulated ovaries.
 In order to development more efficient IVM systems we need more research on;
(i) the control of meiotic progression, (ii) the support of cumulus cells to the oocyte
cellular reorganization occurring during maturation, and (iii) the modulation of stimulus
that promotes oocyte maturation downstream the mid-cycle gonadotropin signal.
