Advances in in‐vitro culture conditions have led to development of sequentional media which allowed extended culture to blastocyst (Gardner 1998). Later, single media was developed for culture to blastocyst (Sfontouris et al., 2016)
The idea of extended culture was created with the objective of obtaining the best available embryo. That is when regulatory bodies were pushing for single embryo transfer to prevent multiple pregnancy (Maheshwari 2016)
