• The live birth rate following fresh ET was higher in blastocyst stage OR 1.48, 95% CI 1.20‐1.82 (low quality evidence).
Cochrane Review: Cleavage v. Blast (2)
• No significant difference in the cumulative pregnancy rate
between blastocyst and cleavage stage embryo transfer.
• Failure to transfer any embryos is higher with blastocyst ET.
• OR 2.50 (95% CI 1.76‐3.55).
• More embryos cryopreserved after cleavage stage ET.
