Fertility Preservation

Welcome to the section dedicated to the Special Interest Group ‘Fertility Preservation’. We are a relatively new SIG, established in early 2017. Here you can read more about us, and our activities.

Mission statement and fields of interest

Fertility preservation in young men, women and even children with cancer or other life-threatening diseases that require treatment, which threatens the fertility. Fertility preservation in individuals suffering from a condition/disease which is itself threatening to their fertility. The scope of the SIG will include FP in women, men and children with malignant and other serious diseases, in transgender individuals and FP for non-medical reasons.

Aims

  • To increase knowledge and awareness amongst healthcare professionals with regards to FP
  • To support collaboration between different European countries and with relevant professional bodies and Societies
  • To support and promote research within the field
  • To promote collaboration with other SIGs
  • To create a forum within ESHRE in which to increase the interest in FP by communication, education and other activities

Activities

The SIG Fertility Preservation aims to provide education through ESHRE Precongress Courses and Campus Workshops, often in collaboration with other SIGs. We also contribute to the programme of the main ESHRE annual meeting, and to abstract reviewing for that meeting.
