 What about EUCS?
• Will couples needing DC accept genetic matching?
• What about impact of costs on access?
• EUCS in combination with genetic matching may under conditions be proportional. One condition is that it should be optional:
– Not all recipients may want to be tested themselves (not even in a blinded system). To impose this upon them is at odds with the autonomy‐aim of reproductive screening (Henneman et al. 2016).
– On the other hand: when EUCS becomes an option for couples in NC or ART, not to give applicants needing DC the same opportunity would be unjust.
 Conclusions
• Nothing wrong in itself with trying to make DC safer than reproduction between partners.
• However, the benefits of wider testing must clearly outweigh the inevitable drawbacks for recipients and donors.
• EUCS in combination with genetic matching may well be proportional under conditions; however the need to have themselves tested should not be imposed on recipients. EUCS in DC should therefore be optional.
