• 80% of childbearing age.
• Improved care of HIV infected adults has converted HIV into a chronic disease with reduced mortality.
• Increasing lifespan in infected couples promotes the desire to have children.
• Successful HIV prevention programs including condom use, have reduced HIV transmission rates.
