Type and frequency of chromosomal abnormalities in hPSCs
• hPSCs contain a higher frequency of chromosomal variations than somatic cells
• Chromosomal aberrations predominately involve duplications and to a lesser extent deletions • Recurrent duplications found at specific genomic loci
• Time in culture associated with duplications of oncogenes
• Reprogramming in hiPSCs associated with deletions of tumour suppressor genes
Numerous aberrations have been reported in hPSCs
