Take home messages
Even with plenty of guidance there will always be an element of subjectivity
• Pre-define how judgments will be made in the protocol (will you consider lack of blinding to be high-risk or not?)
• Be consistent in judging each study
• Backupalljudgementswithdetailedinformation, quoted excerpts and rationale: avoid having to revisit primary studies to check things after peer review!
