What about bad quality spermatozoa ?
Cryopreservation has not provided complete protection because motility of the preserved
spermatozoa decreases ~ 50% of their pre-freeze value
A greater decrease is observed in spermatozoa from infertile patients compared with fertile
patients (Donnelly et al., 2001)
Finding the spermatozoa after thawing can be labour intensive and time consuming
For ICSI patients having motile sperm concentrated in thawed specimens would be very valuable
