 Take‐home messages
            We developed an efficient decellularization perfusion protocol for large reproductive organs:
• Vital proteins of the ECM are retained
• Complex composition: elastin, laminin, fibronectin, collagen type I & IV.
• Little effect of freeze‐thaw cycle • Easy storage of donor tissue.
Only slight modifications necessary to adapt to different species (rabbit): • Good possible candidate for the future decellularization of the human uterus.

             The resulting whole organ bioscaffold is biocompatible and can be converted into different categories of endometrial biomaterials.

Expressing typical endometrial epithelial and stromal cell markers.
Interesting for in vitro endometrial models. Tissue‐specific hydrogels and coatings:
Usable for embryo culture and demonstrated specificity within the proliferating endometrium.
Usable both in vitro and in vivo:
• Organotypic 3D culture for investigation and drug testing.
• Treatment of pathologies such as Asherman’s syndrome or
endometrial atrophy.
