                      OVARIAN CANCER epidemiology
Gyne malignancy with the highest mortality
 The majority of ovarian cancers is epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC)
 3–14% EOC are diagnosed <40 year women mainly
o borderline ovarian tumors (BOT) o BOC Sy pts
(Frankly malignant epithelial ovarian tumors are rare)
 < 1% of ovarian Ca is pediatric or adolescent tumors
 Their histologic profile differs from in the adult population  The vast majority of ovarian tumors are germ cell origin
