      Ovarian cancer – survival
 Worldwide approximately 225,500 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer annually
 75% diagnosed at Stage III and IV
 5 year Disease free survivors (DFS) 14 ‐ 18%
 70% will relapse and die
 Pelvic Serous Carcinomas (PSC) are originate mainly in the fimbriated end of fallopian tube Prophylactic salpingectomy could prevent development of PSC
 Randomized data do not yet support routine screening for ovarian cancer in the general population
 Routine screening is not currently recommended by any professional society
