 1. Immune response during pregnancy
Immune response cannot be seen as a single entity phenomen regulating the ability to defend the organism from potential pathogens. During pregnancy the maternal immune system maintains its capacity to proper react to vaccines, acts effectively against infection but must work in the burdensome maternal organism and excessive maternal morbidity and mortality due to viral infection might not be bound only to defective immune response.
 2. Immune response during pregnancy
The placenta is well accepted by maternal immune system and its antigens are exposed only at delivery with placental detachment, subsequent pregnancy are not negatively affected even when different fathers are involved into family size. It is now evident from pregnancies with heterologous gametes that the semi‐isogenic origin of conceptus is not a requirement for maternal acceptance of the placento‐fetal unit. There is some evidence that HLA heterogeneity positively influence gestational outcome at odds with transplants.
