 Asymptomatic Sperm donors
should not donate for 6 months after returning from travel to an
affected area unless semen ZIKV RNA NAT test –ve
 Infected Sperm donors
should not donate for 6 months unless semen ZIKV RNA NAT test –ve
 Sperm donors should not donate
for 8 weeks after sexual contact with a female who travelled to an
affected area within the last 28 days or was diagnosed with ZIKV For 6 months after sexual contact with a man diagnosed with ZIKV

Management of ZIKV for regular travelers to or inhabitants in epidemic areas
 Pilots, frequent travellers who wish to do ART:
Test for ZIKV serology and Semen ZIKV NAT RNA 4 weeks after leaving
Zika infected area
Proceed if both are negative
Or consider semen freezing for future use
