Diagnostic tools: 3. Human Oocyte Calcium Analysis (HOCA)
HOCA allows the study of the pattern of the Ca2+ oscillations induced by human sperm upon fertilization in human oocytes.
Method:
‐ Patient’s sperm is microinjected into human oocytes pre‐loaded with a Ca2+ indicator.
‐ The analysis of parameters such as the peak amplitude (A) and frequency (F) are used to define the score AxF. The score AxF describes a threshold for normality at the value of 9 a.u.
