The precongress course “The PCO syndrome: from diagnosis to health risk management “ is aimed at making a point on one of the most attractive and controversial conditions in the field of reproductive endocrinology. The event will offer a comprehensive and state-of-art view of the multiple aspects of the polycystic ovary syndrome, including physiopathology, diagnosis, long term health risks for the affected women and their offspring. The focus on the etiology and diagnosis of PCOS will be the premise to the understanding of how individualized treatment with lifestyle changes and medication alleviate symptoms, discomfort, and infertility.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Gynecologists, endocrinologists, reproductive physicians, reproductive nurses, basic researchers.
EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES
The course was built to fulfil the educational needs of different health-care professionals which may be disoriented by the controversial aspects of the syndrome and its ever-changing features. At the conclusion of this event, participants will be enabled to keep up with the latest developments on the role of insulin, androgens, dyslipidemia, and environmental factors in PCOS. The expected outcome for the clinical daily practice is to become familiar with the new trends in the management of polycystic ovary syndrome.
