Mitochondrial donors
- Mitochondrial donors remain anonymous similar to tissue or organ donors
- Donor can apply to find out number of children born, sex and year of birth.
- Children can apply to access non-identifying information from the age of 16
- Do not have any legal rights over the children born and cannot apply for a parental order
- Screening tests including a screen for mtDNA disorders - Expenses are covered up to maximum of £750

Vitrify Warm
Egg retrieval
Inject both sets of eggs with sperm from patient’s partner
Transplant pronuclei ~8 hr later Culture embryos to day 5
Transfer best quality embryo(s) to the uterus + vitrify any remaining
