The evaluation process of the ECRES programme is based on an assessment of the applicant in five independent specific domains of surgical professional competence. Each of these five domains has a recognised and documented educational or training value, with clearly defined stages for assessment.
These five domains are the basic structure of the ECRES certification programme and thus create a unique European frame of diplomas in endoscopic surgery with clearly defined borders between them.
The ECRES, based on this competence structure, has been developed on two levels:
To apply for the Primary or Master level in Reproductive Endoscopic Surgery, applicants must be:
- an ESHRE member
- a registered clinician or a post graduate student in medicine
