Six presentations at ESHRE 2017 were selected and rewarded with a prize of EURO 2,000. One additional presentation was selected for the FSA Exchange Award. Special award committees, composed of senior scientists and clinicians made the selection for each award.

  • Basic Science Award for oral presentation
    awarded to the first and presenting author of the best oral presentation on a basic science topic

    Winner: João Pedro Alves Lopes - Gradient system for testicular organoids generation – a novel system to model germ to somatic cell association in vitro (O-016)


  • Clinical Science Award for oral presentation
    awarded to the first and presenting author of the best oral presentation on a clinical science topic

    Winner: Heleen Zandstra (The Netherlands) Weight and waist circumference of IVF children at the age of 9 years still affected by embryo culture medium (0-033)


  • Basic Science Award for poster presentation
    awarded to the first and presenting author of the best poster presentation on a basic science topic

    Winner: Ellen Casser (Germany) - ART media act as modifiers that substantially influence embryo survival (P-217)


  • Clinical Science Award for poster presentation
    awarded to the first and presenting author of the best poster presentation on a clinical science topic

    Winner: Paula Piomboni (Italy) - Gene polymorphic variants in taste receptors (TAS) genes and male fertility: a possible correlation (P-035)


  • The Fertility Society of Australia Exchange Award
    An educational travel grant, will allow one of the participants of ESHRE 2017 to present the data of his/her oral presentation at the annual meeting of the Fertility Society of Australia

    Winner: Mina Popovic (Belgium) - Comprehensive comparison of inner cell mass and trophectoderm reveals the complex nature of chromosomal mosaicism in human embryos (0-181)



  • The Nurses Award
    awarded to the best oral presentation by a nurse

    Winner: Sarah Bailey (United Kingdom) - Hope for the best …. But prepare for the worst (0-148)



  • The ART Laboratory Award
    awarded to the best oral or poster presentation made by a laboratory technician

    Winner: Sofie Ellegiers (Belgium) - A time-lapse incubator is a superior incubator for excellent quality blastocyst embryo development compared to a conventional incubator (O-092)
