Could we increase success in IVF - unsolved issues in ART

Precongress Course 15

MSRM organized by MRSM (Mediterranean Society for Reproductive Medicine

Course co-ordinator(s)

Tatjana Motrenko Simic (Montenegro), Antonis Makrigianakis (Greece), Hassan Sallem (Egypt)

Course type

Basic and advanced

Course description
Assisted reproduction techniques are widely applied with an increasing global trend. Clinical and basic research contributed to evidence based practice aiming to maximize reproductive outcomes. In that view, both physicians and embryologists are required to update their standard of care. Despite the wide applicability of ART, several issues are considered as hot topics mainly due conflicting result of research’s or lack of evidence needed to support changes in everyday practice. This course aims to discuss these topics, providing the most recent evidence, passing all stages of IVF process and helping clinicians and embryologist to improve IVF treatment. The main goal of the course is to highlight such unsolved issues, aiming to trigger discussion and proposals for future clinical and laboratory research.

Educational needs and expected outcomes

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Summarize the evidence base of important issues in ART
  • Understand the discrepancies in management of different ART interventions
  • Describe potential research goals in the field of ART
