Course description

This Precongress Course will focus on the use of new technologies and add-ons in the IVF laboratory; a topic of keen interest and the subject of many presentations worldwide for a number of years. There remains significant subject matter to discuss, largely owing to the fast pace of technological advancement as well as increased patient education and their treatment desires.

Target audience

Clinical Embryologists, laboratory practitioners, clinicians, nurses/midwives

Educational needs and expected outcomes

Participants attending this event are expected to learn about the current state-of-play for IVF add-ons. They will also learn how readily available new technologies can be integrated into the laboratory, as well as new technologies on the horizon.

By the end of the course, participants will have the latest knowledge on:

  1. Understand the evidence base to support add-ons
  2. Introducing new technologies in the IVF lab: evaluation of requirements, implementation and adjustment to the new technology
  3. Understanding the reasons for TLT uptake, and evaluating the reality of this technology
  4. Understand the role of non-invasive "omics" for embryo selection
  5. Introduction of AI in the IVF laboratory
  6. Evidence base for use and differences between new sperm selection methods
  7. Assessment of the application of AI for optimal sperm selection
