Ovarian stimulation stands as a cornerstone of ART, with the strategic treatment of rhFSH;rhLH being essential for patients at risk of severe LH/FSH deficiency.
For patients undergoing a first ovarian stimulation, data highlights key risk factors for LH/FSH deficiency such as age, BMI, use of GnRH analogs, and receptor mutations. Furthermore, examining previous stimulation attempts and outcomes is crucial for identifying risk of LH/FSH deficiency in patients with prior unsuccessful ART cycles.
The upcoming symposium will focus on the importance of tailoring treatment protocols to improve ART outcomes. Discussions will cover the role of LH and hCG in the menstrual cycle, and their effects on oocyte and embryo quality. New research methods, including the use of Artificial Intelligence for analyzing and predicting oocyte quality, will be presented.
Particular attention will be given to treatment with rhFSH:rhLH m which have shown to improve results beyond just oocyte and embryo quality. Despite the critical nature of this data, there is a shortage in current research. To address this, Merck is excited to introduce the PERFORM study, designed to enhance clinical decision-making by providing a detailed view of ovarian stimulation outcomes across a diverse group of women undergoing rhFSH:rhLH treatment.
This study aims to fill the existing gaps and guide future enhancements in ART protocols.
