Course description

The objective of this course is to present an updated overview of guidance on embryo transfer and the many possible “fates of the embryo” beyond uterine placement to achieve a pregnancy. This includes cryopreservation, donation to other couples, donation for research and compassionate embryo transfer, while integrating relevant ethical and legal aspects.


Learning objectives

  • Guidance regarding the number of embryos to transfer, with particular focus on the upcoming ESHRE SET guidelines.
  • Updated information regarding the pros and cons of embryo donation.
  • Detailed insight on the ethical and legal aspects surrounding the embryo.
  • Overview of how to setup research projects using embryos.

Embryologists and physicians specialising in reproductive medicine.
