Course description

Embryo fragmentation is a common finding in IVF, yet its biological origins and clinical significance remain unclear. This webinar will review current evidence, explore underlying mechanisms, and help embryologists better interpret fragmentation in the context of modern embryo assessment and selection.

Embryo fragmentation is a common, visible, yet still poorly understood phenomenon in IVF practice, with direct implications for embryo selection and clinical decision-making. Fragmentation influences embryo grading, discard decisions, and transfer strategies, often without strong or consistent evidence to guide interpretation. The objective of this webinar is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the concept of embryonic fragmentation and the underlying mechanisms involved, with the aim of enhancing the competencies of embryologists in this domain and thereby contributing to the quality of their clinical practice.

By the end of this webinar, participants will have a better understanding of the mechanisms behind fragmentation. Enabling them to interpret it more effectively and support their clinical decision-making.
