ESHRE Webinar
organised by the ESHRE Special Interest Group Embryology
Type
Advanced
Learning objectives
This webinar will aim to provide an evidence-based overview of:
- The concept of culture media age and its relevance in IVF
- The current evidence on the impact of media age on IVF outcomes
- To interpret findings in the context of laboratory practice and media development
Course description
This webinar will examine the role of embryo culture media age in IVF, addressing a long-standing question about whether “older” media affects embryo development or outcomes. It provides a broad, evidence-based perspective on media shelf life, quality, and implications for laboratory efficiency and sustainability.
Target audience
Embryologists, ART technicians, researchers, clinicians, and other personnel involved in reproductive medicine and MAR
Needs assessment
There is variability and uncertainty in current practice regarding the interpretation and application of embryo culture media shelf life in IVF laboratories. The aims to improve understanding of culture media quality parameters, clarify their relevance to embryo development and outcomes, and support evidence-based decision-making to promote consistency, efficiency, and sustainability in laboratory practice will be covered during this webinar.
Expected educational outcomes
This webinar addresses the need for a clearer understanding of embryo culture media quality parameters, improved interpretation of shelf life in relation to embryo development and outcomes, and support for evidence-based and sustainable laboratory practice.
