Oocyte and embryo morphology assessment
The Istanbul Consensus update: a revised ESHRE/ALPHA consensus on oocyte and embryo static and dynamic morphological assessment” defines the current recommended criteria for morphological assessment of oocytes, zygotes, embryos, and provides recommendations for ranking embryos for embryo transfer.
The recommendations document was developed in collaboration with the Alpha Scientists in Reproductive Medicine and is published in HR (see DOI: 10.1093/humrep/deaf021).
This is an updated version of the Istanbul Consensus on assessing oocytes, zygotes and embryos, published by, Alpha Scientists in Reproductive Medicine (ALPHA) and ESHRE Special Interest Group of Embryology in 2011 (see DOI: 10.1093/humrep/der037)
Working group

The Working Group on the update of the ESHRE/ALPHA Istanbul Consensus comprised 17 internationally recognized experts with extensive experience in clinical embryology. The group included seven members representing Alpha Scientists in Reproductive Medicine, eight members representing the ESHRE Special Interest Group Embryology, and two methodological experts from ESHRE.
