“My dad is also an OB-GYN in Chile. I remember that these couples came every year, bringing him gifts for Christmas. When I was six years old, I asked him why, and he told me that he had helped them get pregnant. They were so, so grateful, and they came back every year with a present. And I thought: “That’s what I want, presents!”, and so this was the path I chose at six years old. Now, I have to say that even though I have not yet received any presents from patients, I get to be present when couples, who have been waiting for five or ten years, finally find out they are pregnant. I get to be a part of it, and that is worth it.”
