Course description
Even before the COVID 19 pandemic, virtual health was gaining attractiveness. It is now an acceptable standard of care in both the public and private reproductive care setting. Virtual health benefits include increased access to care, lower healthcare costs, a patient-centered model, and the potential to move fertility care towards a more equitable and sustainable model. In the beginning, most fertility providers had to learn-by-doing out of necessity. Now, researchers have begun empirically studying its use and implementation. This course aims to present the current literature and newest trends, borrowing lessons learned during the pandemic, while serving as a virtual health how-to guide.

All professions (physicians, nurses, midwives, andrologists, counselors, practice administrators, health secretaries, embryologists)
Needs assessment and expected outcomes
Virtual health is a rapidly growing type of healthcare. Research on the use and implementation is just beginning. Many fertility providers practicing today did not learn virtual health skills while completing their education and there are few settings where the skills and knowledge can be obtained. This is a unique course.
This course aims to present the current literature and newest trends, borrowing lessons learned during the pandemic, while serving as a virtual health how-to guide for all professions within reproductive medicine. The course also explores new models of diagnosing and treatment monitoring for the novel virtual setting.
Innovative aspects of the course
The subject of the course is timely, current, and novel for ESHRE. It is also designed as a how-to-guide with a focus on skills and implementation, rather than a presentation of research. Speakers include practitioners who share how they use virtual health on a daily basis.
