Course description

In this webinar series “In vivo or in vitro spermatogenesis to restore male fertility”, we aim to provide and discuss several procedures to restore male fertility using in vivo or in vitro spermatogenesis using immature testicular tissue.


Learning objectives:

The participants will get an update and overview on in vivo and in vitro spermatogenesis for restoring male fertility mainly using immature testicular tissue.


Target audience:

All clinicians, biologists, scientists, IVF laboratory technicians and paramedicals interested in male infertility.


Expected educational outcomes

The webinar series “In vivo or in vitro spermatogenesis to restore male fertility” aims to provide you with:

  • An overview of procedures for restoring male fertility mainly after exposition to gonadotoxic treatment,
  • An update of in vivo procedures for restoring male fertility (testicular tissue grafting, germ cell transplantation,
  • An update of in vitro procedures for restoring male fertility (germ cell or testicular tissue organotypic culture in animal models and humans,
  • An overview of the availability of testis organoids in animal models and humans and their use for restoring male fertility or as tools to test the testis toxicity of different treatments or molecules,
  • An update of the impact of cancer treatment received before puberty on long term functions of the testis.
