ESHRE Webinar

organised by the ESHRE Special Interest Group Reproductive Surgery

Type

Advanced

Learning objectives

Understanding pathology of gynecological malignancy, risks and implications for patients. Challenges and safety for fertility preservation with proper surgical management in gynaecological malignancy.

Course description

This webinar, focuses on endoscopic surgical techniques in the management of gynaecological oncology patients with an emphasis on fertility preservation. Through expert presentations, participants will explore the pathology and risks associated with gynaecological malignancies, review conservative and fertility-sparing surgical approaches, and discuss patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes.

Target audience

General Gynaecologists, Gynae-oncology Surgeons, Specialists in Reproductive Medicine

Needs assessment

This topic was selected following feedback from ESHRE members, case-based discussions within the SIG Reproductive Surgery, and review of current literature and guidelines indicating an increased need for knowledge on fertility preservation in oncological settings. The rising incidence of cancer in women of reproductive age and advances in surgical techniques have created a demand for targeted educational activities in this area.

Derived educational needs:

  • Understanding the pathology and clinical implications of gynaecological malignancies in reproductive-age patients
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based fertility-sparing surgical techniques
  • Practical guidance on HSC, LSC approach

Expected educational outcomes

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the pathology, risks, and implications of gynaecological malignancies in reproductive-age women
  • Identify appropriate candidates for fertility-preserving treatment
  • Apply knowledge of hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, and other endoscopic surgical techniques in oncological cases
  • Recognise the benefits and limitations of conservative management in endometrial, cervical, and borderline ovarian tumours
