Course description
This advanced webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of uterine fibroids in women of reproductive age, with a particular focus on fertility implications and pharmacological management. The programme features contributions from internationally recognised leaders in reproductive medicine and reproductive surgery, offering a high-level, evidence-based perspective on fibroid-related infertility. Needs assessment
The needs assessment was based on identified knowledge gaps in clinical practice, recent advances in medical treatment options for uterine fibroids, and feedback from SIG Reproductive Surgery and SIG Endometriosis and Endometrial Disorders members. It was clear that there is a growing demand for up-to-date, evidence-based guidance on non-surgical and fertility-preserving management strategies for fibroids in women wishing to conceive.
Derived educational needs include:
- Updated understanding of fibroid-related infertility mechanisms
- Clear guidance on pharmacological treatment indications
- Integration of medical management into fertility care pathways
Expected educational outcomes
Participants are expected to:
- Acquire advanced knowledge of uterine fibroid pathophysiology
- Improve clinical decision-making regarding fertility-preserving treatments
- Critically appraise pharmacological therapies for fibroids
- Integrate current evidence into daily reproductive medicine practice
