Code of Conduct

Anti-harassment and anti-discrimination statement

ESHRE is committed to ensure a safe and secure environment for all those who participate in its in-person and virtual activities. All those registering at an ESHRE meeting or event must agree to a code of behaviour, a brief version of which is shown here.

ESHRE will not tolerate unwanted conduct that violates the dignity of a person, or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment. Such conduct includes harassment via social media and all forms of electronic communication.

Examples of unwanted conduct include:

  • Comments or conduct that is unwelcome, intimidating, humiliating, or perceived as harassment. This includes sexual harassment, psychological harassment, bullying and stalking.
  • Distressing behaviour, in the form of hostile or unwanted conduct.
  • Verbal comments, actions, or gestures, or demonstration of inappropriate images that affect a person’s dignity, psychological or physical integrity.
  • Discriminatory comments or conduct, which include unwanted advances, suggestive remarks, aggressive and/or derogatory comments.
  • Unwanted phone calls or written messages.
  • The use of physical violence.

It is highly recommended that all those who participate in ESHRE activities read our anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policy, which can be consulted here.

Any person who believes to have experienced or witnessed any form or act of discrimination and/or harassment can, without fear of retaliation, report the incident by e-mail to ESHRE’s Managing Director (bruno@eshre.eu).
