Course description
This Campus will review how technological advances have led and continue to lead to breakthroughs in understanding the embryo-maternal interface and endometrial receptivity. World-renowned experts will highlight the role of novel transcriptomics, metabolomics and other -omics technologies at the single cell resolution, and describe novel models for in vitro research based on three-dimensional and embryo surrogates. The programme will conclude with an overview of how research is conducted in space.
Target audience
Scientists working in the domain of reproductive biology/medicine. Reproductive medicine doctors working or with strong interest in technology-driven developments and translational research. Any other professional with interest in novel discoveries.
Educational needs and expected educational outcomes
We are witnessing an extraordinary growth in the technologies and methodologies we use to study life science; this also has an impact on reproductive medicine.
With this workshop we expect:
- to provide an insight into new -omics technologies
- to provide insights on novel culture model systems of the embryo and the endometrium
- to give an up-to-date overview of the knowledge generated by these technologies
- to provide balanced view on the potential and translationability of these developments
- to explain the importance of interdisciplinary work
Innovative aspects of the course
The most innovative aspect of the course will be the detailed description of how recent technologies are shaping the research on human reproduction and may affect clinical practice.
