Course description

Participants in this Campus course will receive a comprehensive update on the clinical and laboratory aspects of intrauterine insemination anno 2017. The history of IUI will be the topic of Egbert te Veldeā€™s lecture, followed by an overview of IUI registration worldwide. B J Cohlen will describe the WHO/ESHRE guidelines on IUI, which will be followed by an interactive discussion and recommendations for future research. The course will also aim to provide evidence-based information for daily practice, with a special session on how to run an IUI programme and an interactive session with case presentation and discussions. Experts in the field will give up-to-date lectures on prognostic factors influencing IUI outcome, with special attention to lifestyle factors, genetic influences, infections and semen quality. The cost-effectiveness of IUI in the global ART scene will also be discussed. Special attention will be given to perinatal outcome after IUI and the prevention of multiple pregnancies.

Up-to-date lectures followed by round table discussions, an interactive session with case presentations and case discussions, facts and visions on the future of IUI. The participants will receive a very comprehensive update of all different aspects associated with IUI treatment.
