Endometriosis and risk of ectopic pregnancy

28.01.2017 0:22:40
The link between endometriosis, infertility and an increased need for assisted reproductive techniques is well recognised. Endometriosis is associated with an altered peritoneal and endometrial milieu. There are structural and molecular changes in the eutopic endometrium, progesterone resistance and a pro inflammatory peritoneal environment. This intricate web of pathogenic mechanisms could potentially affect implantation and predispose to adverse pregnancy outcomes. This presentation explores whether endometriosis is an independent risk factor for ectopic pregnancy irrespective of the fertility status.

Assessment of ovarian reserve

06.05.2016 0:20:56
Assessment of ovarian reserve forms a key part of the work-up of the infertility patient. It has been a key point of discussion for several years now as there are many different tests that have been suggested over the years. The most important feature of any proposed test ought to be the predictive value in terms of ovarian response (poor or excessive) and clicinal outcome (pregnancy of no pregnancy). this talk aims to systematically address all of these points.
