SIG REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY

Record endocrinology abstracts for Barcelona

Annual Meeting will see launch of new international PCOS guidelines

With our Campus course in May fully booked several weeks before the event and still many requests for registration, we have been looking at ways to ensure the course information is spread as widely and as quickly as possible. Several lectures from the course, on The luteal phase: the neglected part of assisted reproduction will be available to ESHRE members on our e-learning platform.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome
Our precongress course in Barcelona is on The PCO syndrome: from diagnosis to health risk management, and will feature some of the leading experts in the field. We have already taken part in the development of new international comprehensive guidelines on PCOS, revised and endorsed by the most important scientific societies, including ESHRE and ASRM. The guideline aims to provide the best evidence available, taking a multidisciplinary approach with international clinical perspectives and patient preferences. The guideline will be released at the Annual Meeting in Barcelona.

Reproductive endocrinology in Barcelona
Abstracts submitted in the reproductive endocrinology category reached a record number this year. Selection, carried out by members of the SIG-RE steering committee and external reviewers, proved very tough. As a result, four sessions of oral communications and several intriguing posters will be available. As Co-ordinator, I would like to express my appreciation to everyone who submitted studies and my deep gratitude for the efforts made by the referees.

Let’s make decisions together
An important moment in the life of the SIG-RE is its annual business meeting, which this year will take place in Barcelona on Tuesday 3 July at 13:00 (more info will be available in the Final Program and online). A report of our activities will be provided, and we will plan future educational events. We look for ideas, contributions and feedback on how we are doing. The meeting is open to everyone - you are warmly invited to actively participate!

A joint venture with the SIG Fertility preservation will take place in Copenhagen on 25-26 October 2018, with the title Optimizing fertility preservation for women. This course will provide high-level information on clinical protocols for ovarian stimulation and surgical/lab approaches to fertility preservation, including automation. These themes will be tailored for different cancer patients, as well as non-oncology cases, including transgender, Turner syndrome, endometriosis and elective fertility preservation candidates. The proposed format is a lively integration of lectures, debates and analysis of difficult cases discussed by a panel of experts with the audience. This Campus course is aimed at all professionals who are involved in fertility preservation, including clinicians, embryologists, nurses, counsellors, and basic scientists. More info and the link for registration are already available here .
