A project from the Special Interest Group Safety and Quality in ART
The guideline will summarise existing evidence on single and double embryo transfer in terms of pregnancy and live birth rate, but also prematurity, morbidity, mortality and stress for the families.
In addition, the different transfer policies will be described with respect to cultural, social and economic factors.
The purpose of the guideline is to provide guidance on the appropriate embryo transfer policy in specific clinical scenarios. For each scenario, the evidence will be described, either for elective single embryo transfer or for double transfer, including how the success outweighs any possible complications.
The guideline group will shortly define the key questions after which they will start working on the evidence synthesis.
The guideline is expected by the end of 2020.
