Dr Paola Vigano

Paola Vigano’ is the IVF Lab Coordinator at Fondazione IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milano.
She obtained her biological degree at the University of Milan in 1989 and a post-graduate residency in Experimental Endocrinology at the School of Pharmacy of the same University in 2000. She obtained her Ph.D. in Prenatal Medicine at the University of Siena in 2003 and conducted postdoctoral fellowships at the Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Scientific Auxologic Institute and at the Department of Reproductive Medicine at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milano. From 2010 to 2020 she has been Coordinator of the Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratory and Group Leader of the Reproductive Sciences lab at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute, Milano.
She has published over 300 peer-reviewed papers, review articles and book chapters and has about 6000 citations. She is presently recognized as the 4th world leader in endometriosis by Experscape ranking, Palo Alto. From 2006 to 2009 she has been Deputy Coordinator of ESHRE Special Interest Group in Endometrium and Endometriosis, from 2011 to 2014 Associate Editor of Human Reproduction Update and from 2015 to 2019 Associate Editor of Human Reproduction. She is presently Section Editor of Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders, the official journal of The Society of Endometriosis and Uterine Disorders (SEUD).
In 2015 she won the Grant for Fertility Innovation of Merck Serono, in 2016 the ESHRE grant, in 2019 the Theramex BIRTH grant and in 2024 the EUmetriosis grant by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency, under the HORIZON-HLTH-2024-DISEASE-03-14-two-stage program.
