Human tissues and cells are being increasingly used in a variety of ways, and although advances in transplantation therapy have unquestionable benefits, their use raises questions about safety and quality. The 3rd edition of the Guide to the quality and safety on tissues and cells for human application was published in 2017. It collates the most up to date information to provide transplant professionals with a comprehensive overview of the most recent advances in the field as well as technical guidance on ensuring the quality and safety of human tissues and cells applied to human body.
The Guide contains technical information and guidance for professionals, inspectors auditing the establishments, and Health Authorities responsible for tissues and cells for human application.
Two chapters are specific for ART (Chapter 24 and 25) and have been written under the coordination of ESHRE. Relevant information is also written in the general Chapters (Part A of the Guide).
